Teresa L. (Terri) Deithorn Memorial Scholarship
After graduating from high school, Terri attended the St. Francis School of Nursing. She received her nursing diploma in 1977, and began her professional nursing career at St. Francis Hospital in the isolation unit. She then moved to the surgical department and became a surgical nurse. While working at St. Francis she decided to continue her education at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, Pa. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1984. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Allegheny General Hospital and worked with Dr. Joseph Maroon doing research on head and neck injuries and developing injury prevention programs. Terri’s passion for life and for the well being of others was continuously evidenced in both her professional and personal life. The Deithorn family is extremely proud to establish a legacy for Terri through the Teresa Lynn (Terri) Deithorn Memorial Scholarship.
